In Madinah there is no ihram rite: the aim is prayer in the Prophet’s ﷺ Mosque, greeting the Prophet ﷺ and his two companions, then visits (Baqiʿ, Quba, Uhud). The Rawda is booked through the Nusuk app, run by the authorities: the agency helps but does not control the slots.
Schools differVisiting Madinah is recommended but not a condition of Umrah. At the grave, greet respectfully in a low voice, without asking the Prophet ﷺ for what is asked only of Allah; practices around the grave are debated: keep to the greeting.
Supplications
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
As-salāmu ʿalayka yā rasūla Llāhi wa raḥmatu Llāhi wa barakātuh
Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings (then upon Abu Bakr and Umar).
